The same formula, made for air plants
Tillandsias and bromeliads absorb moisture and nutrients through the trichomes on their leaves rather than through roots in soil. Tilly Boost is built around that. Its nitrogen is in a free form the plant can take up straight away, unlike the soil-dependent nitrogen in most general plant foods that needs bacteria in a growing medium to break it down first.
Copper, boron and zinc are all left out because they are known to be harmful to tillandsias, and there are no colored dyes in the mix.
Reading the 16-9-25
Sixteen percent nitrogen supports leaf and foliage growth, nine percent phosphorus supports roots and flowering, and twenty five percent potassium supports water regulation, general vigor and bloom quality. The high potassium share is what pushes stronger growth and better blooms.
Mixing rates
Fully soluble in cold water, so no warm water or pre-mixing is needed. Measure with the included scoop, stir into water, then mist, spray or soak as you normally would.
- With every watering: 1/2 teaspoon per gallon of water
- Weekly or biweekly: 1 teaspoon per gallon of water
- Once per month: 1 1/2 teaspoons per gallon of water
Storage
Keep unopened packs somewhere cool and dry and they will be ready whenever you need them, which is part of why buying four at a time makes sense.
